 Introduction The Association of Chinese Students and Scholars in the Netherlands, Amsterdam Branch (ACSSNL Amsterdam) is a non-profit association founded by both Chinese students and scholars studying or working in Amsterdam. It is an affiliated organization of the Chinese Embassy in the Netherlands, and the only authorized one representing Chinese students and scholars as well. Its purpose is to facilitate closer cooperation between the Education Section, the Chinese Embassy in the Netherlands, and Chinese students and scholars. Mission Consistent to the aspiration of ACSSNL , ACSSNL is dedicated to promoting social, intellectual and cultural exchange among the Chinese students, scholars and other Chinese studying or living in Amsterdam, and facilitating their adaptation to the local community. Goal Stick to the directives of our embassy and ambitious to what it is pursuing, ACSSNL strives to -- strengthen the contact and friendship among its members, -- provide assistance to its members wherever and whenever possible, -- establish truly mutual understanding and friendship between the Chinese and Dutch people -- assist diverse collaborations and activities between Chinese and Dutch people - Our Organizational Structure
Our current president is Hu Hai, (phD student, Faculty of Medical, Vrije Universiteit) and vice chairman is Wang Yanjing (phD student, Centrum voor Wiskunde en Informatica, CWI). According to different functions and responsibilities, we have the following departments: -- Department of Financial -- Department of Activities and Organization -- Department of Propaganda -- Department of Sports activities -- Department of Entertainment and Leisure -- Department of Living & Service -- Department of Doctors & Scholars -- Department of Liaison -- Department of IT Besides, we also have a general contactor in each school for a better connection with and serve our members.

Who Can Join?
We welcome all Chinese who studies, researches, works and visits in Amsterdam, no matter on a basis of long-term or short-term stay. How to Join? Once you become our member, then you can - keep up with the latest various information (e.g. the official release from our Embassy);
- join diverse activities (e.g. bowling game, karaoke);
- request possible help, assistance, guidance and advice whenever necessary;
- enjoy certain favorable treatment (e.g. discount, extra services) if the counterpart concerned is one of our network;

Besides all members who have registered contact data in our system will information letter periodically by email. Last but not least, we also welcome friends of our members studying in other cities to our activities though they may not enjoy all of our services and supports.
- About the Official Register
Every students and scholars with Chinese citizenship has to register in our Embassy after arrival in the Netherlands. Filling in the registration form which can be downloaded from http://www.chinaembassy.nl, you need the signature of our association president before handing in to our Embassy as required. What we can do for you is to collect your filled registration form and take over the sequent processes.
It’s really tough time if we can’t be together with our families during the holidays and festivals. To mitigate the homesickness and loneliness and to help broaden personal network, we hold the right to gathering together and organizing parties for our members to celebrate certain Chinese feasts, e.g. Mid-autumn Day & National Day Celebration, Chinese New Year Party.
- About Seminars and Academic Activities
One key mission for us is to contribute to the development in/between China and the Netherlands, we also invest efforts in organizing diverse seminars and academic activities.
- About Recreational Activities
To enrich our members’ extra-curricular life in Amsterdam, we organize different activities regularly, for example, the bowling game, the tennis contest and the karaoke competition.
CHINA EMBASSY
We are the recoganizable student & scholar association in Amsterdam supported by our Embassy in the Netherlands. And we act as the connection between students and scholars in Amsterdam and our Embassy, according to the principles of our base association—ACSSNL. Therefore, we are responsible for propagandizing the news and directives assigned by our Embassy, collection our registration forms, reporting periodically the feedbacks and facts and undertaking other connective and organizing activities and tasks, within the region of Amsterdam.
